Windows 7 has taken the Microsoft to the leads as compared with other operating system. The sales of the Windows 7 have reached far away from the expectations, it generated, beforehand. To keep it competing with other operating systems, there are certain desktop gadgets, which should be used by the user and cannot be said "No" to it.
These different gadgets for the Windows 7 Desktop can be listed as:
1. All CPU meter: It is used to monitor dual-core computer running Vista, which wasn’t available in the quad-core version. It monitors the memory usage as well as CPUs, and it packs a lot of information into a small space. The background colours can also be changed according to the preferences set by the user.
2. Windows Orb Clock: This feature helps in making the choice for the electric blue version of the one that comes with the operating system. It helps in giving the clean look, to the computer.
3. Clipboard Manager: This application is used to access previous Clipboard items without opening an Office application. Clipboard Manager looks slick and is feature-rich. The user can also customize the background to fit the desktop, and not just the colour; one can use a photo as the background if the user prefers.
4. Facebook Explorer: Much of the discourse that used to take place through email discussion lists now occurs via Facebook. A Facebook gadget seemed like almost a necessity. It can be configured to run in a smaller or larger width and one of three heights, and the user can specify how often they want to update. The user can also update your status in the flyout.
5. Ultimate Explorer: Ultimate Explorer lets the user search popular sites from their desktop without having to go to those sites first in their browser. It's a compact little gadget that can search Google, YouTube, Wikipedia, eBay, Amazon, Digg, and many more. The user can select up to eight search sites, which enables the user to "snap" quickly from one search engine to another. It also includes a flyout calendar and events feature.
6. Application Launcher: The main feature of the Windows 7 operating system, which annoyed and frustrated the user the most is the omission of the Quick Launch toolbar, but, Quick launch bar serves the same purpose, it can be placed anywhere the user wants on the desktop. The user can configure the number of icons in the gadget section and also change the background image as well.
These are some of the gadgets for the Windows 7 Desktop, which should be used by the user and cannot be ignored at the same time.
